Most modern vehicles come with warning triangles which is great as they are a compulsory item for driving in France. On the spot fines are applicable if you fail to comply with the list of items specified by the French government.
Although warning triangles appear a little flimsy they are a really useful piece of kit in the unfortunate event of an accident or breakdown.
Your first priority if you breakdown is to get your vehicle off the road as much as possible and get your occupants somewhere safe. The second is to warn other road users and this can be done successfully via warning triangles.
In the UK you may have noticed that police don’t just use one sign to let you know that an obstruction is in the road. They generally use 3 at specific intervals leading up to the accident. This is why we recommend that you have at least 2 warning triangle to give plenty of warning to other road users.
Warning triangles generally come in a bag or plastic container and take up very little space so make sure you’re well prepared.
